His love for the Saraswathi Veena has taken him to renowned venues around the world, where he has captivated audiences with his soulful performances. From an early age, music was a cornerstone of his identity, nurtured by a family with deep affinity to culture and arts. Balu’s mother was a Veena practitioner and took great interest in nurturing this passion in Balu. Embarking on his musical education under Vid. A V Prakash at the tender age of 8, Balu quickly distinguished himself, becoming a youth artist at All India Radio and receiving notable accolades.
Balu spent many years in the United States pursuing higher education and a career in technology. During this period Balu kept his ties with his musical heritage by continuing to learn and perform Carnatic music regularly. After returning to India, he dedicated himself to music with renewed focus and passion under the mentorship of Vid. Dr. Jayanthi Kumaresh, the torch bearer of Saraswathi Veena and celebrated Veena virtuoso.
Balu’s contributions to the Indian classical music landscape include performances during the Margazhi season in Chennai and at venues such as Madhuradhwani, Chennai and Ramaseva Mandali, Bangalore. His devotion to music also finds expression through Sangeetha seva at revered sites like Sri Ram Lalla Mandir, Ayodhya, Sri Kanchipuram and Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri.
